19th Century French Pine Library Ladder
A wonderfully utilitarian 19th-century French library step ladder, or escabeau, crafted in pine with the honest character of a working antique. The A-frame structure features three broad steps, a substantial top platform, stretcher supports, and an unusually tall upright post designed to provide support when climbing. Its simple construction and aged wood surface give it strong French country character while preserving its original functional form.
